Everybody Needs a Paul or a Peter- What this means is that we all need a Mentor; someone to pour themselves into us and to shape us into men and women that become difference makers. There is a great Greek proverb that states, "A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they will never sit in". I think this best describes the work of Peter and Paul. I love this quote because it reflects the value we talk about at Georgianna... to pursue a life of being "other" driven. The truth is we are easily influenced, whether for good or bad, for destructiveness or for life...we are constantly being shaped. This Sunday we will talk about our need for a spiritual shaper someone who helps us understand the value of staying on the Kingdom road.
